Marketing through music. The Secret Generator Series.

Since we’re on the subject of marketing clothing brands through music, this is another great idea through a collaboration by Urban Outfitters and Levi’s.  Over the past month, Urban Outfitters and Levi’s put on two amazing free concerts as part of our Secret Generator Series.  After announcing which cities the shows would be in, they kept the venue locations top secret until just days before each show.  The first show was under an overpass in Chicago, where Deerhunter played.  The second show was at a power plant in Boston where you could see Neon Indian FOR FREEeeee.  They were also giving away free gift cards.  I WISH I COULD HAVE GONE!  Sighe, hopefully there will be a next time.  Here’s a video of the Deerhunter show you can see on the UO blog.  Click on the image for more details.

Side note:  A little strange the awesomeness happened in the only two cities I’ve lived in.
